Description
The MCG-40 has been described as the perfect beginner’s guitar. It has a solid cedar soundboard with laminated mahogany back and sides. A wonderfully comfortable and playable mahogany neck is complemented by a rosewood fingerboard.
The solid spruce soundboard is bright and will evolve over time as the spruce stiffens. The laminated mahogany back and sides set the guitar of beautifully. The fast response and bell-like tones with sweet trebles make this a popular model especially among traditionalists.
The MCG-40 is popular among Katoh guitars. It is the model with the greatest number of options with varying soundboards, scale lengths, left hand and EQ cutaway models available.
