Addison Avenue was inspired by the style of the classic big band led by the great Count Basie. It’s a toe-tapping swing chart featuring dynamic statements from all sections of the band and jumping shout choruses for the whole ensemble. The solo section presents written or improvised choruses for tenor, trumpet and alto and in the Count Basie tradition, shines the spotlight on the piano for the introduction and the famous Basie ending.
