The Original Fine Music
Many of you will know the Fine Music of the past – a name synonymous as an icon of Melbourne’s retail print music industry for over 30 years. Originally established around 1960 by Rueben Fineberg, Fine Music grew over the following decades to become known as Australia’s leading supplier of print music and music and theatre related texts. In 2002 the business was sold and in 2006 the doors were closed. A very sad day for Melbourne.
In the years that followed, Michael Jongebloed, a previous employee of the original Fine Music, couldn’t help but feel there was an increasing need in Melbourne for a specialist store like Fine Music and after much planning Fine Music in Hawthorn opened its doors for the first time in January 2012.

The Fine Music Of Today
The world has changed a great deal since Rueben Fineberg first started Fine Music all those years ago and so too has Fine Music. Not only can Fine Music boast the largest range of sheet music in the country but we have also expanded our offering to include an extensive range of brass and woodwind instruments and accessories from the world’s leading manufacturers such as Bach, Yamaha, Pearl Flutes and Schagerl. Our range caters to the needs of the beginner right through to the seasoned professional. One big change from the Fine Music of the past is our focus on music education and our support for schools. Our dedicated Education Team has access to products from the world's leading manufacturers. A comprehensive catalogue can be found on our education website here
